Her career spanned teaching at every level from nursery school through the masters\u2019 level. She has a B. S. in home economics with a minor in science from Berry College. She earned an M. Ed. in guidance and counseling at the University of Mississippi and an M.S. in child development at Northwestern State University of Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>She has written plays for children to perform, stories to illustrate lessons, and short academic articles for non-juried publications. Her previous publications include \u201cBreakthrough\u201d <em>Writers\u2019 Journal,<\/em> Mar\/Apr, 2010, p33 and <em>Berrytrails: an Historic and Contemporary Guide to the Berry Schools<\/em>, published in 1977 by Berry College. All 2000 copies of this local interest publication sold. One of her short stories, &#8220;A Duke&#8217;s Mixture,&#8221; received an honorable mention from <em>Writers&#8217; Journal<\/em> in December, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Clara is a native of Vienna, Georgia and currently lives with her husband in the mountains of North Georgia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clara McRae is a teacher who taught for over twenty-five years.
