Clara McRae is a teacher who taught for over twenty-five years. Her career spanned teaching at every level from nursery school through the masters’ level. She has a B. S. in home economics with a minor in science from Berry College. She earned an M. Ed. in guidance and counseling at the University of Mississippi and an M.S. in child development at Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
She has written plays for children to perform, stories to illustrate lessons, and short academic articles for non-juried publications. Her previous publications include “Breakthrough” Writers’ Journal, Mar/Apr, 2010, p33 and Berrytrails: an Historic and Contemporary Guide to the Berry Schools, published in 1977 by Berry College. All 2000 copies of this local interest publication sold. One of her short stories, “A Duke’s Mixture,” received an honorable mention from Writers’ Journal in December, 2011.
Clara is a native of Vienna, Georgia and currently lives with her husband in the mountains of North Georgia.
